I Ditched My Iron Tablets for This, and I Don’t Regret It
If there’s one thing chronic anaemia has taught me, it’s that you can’t pour from an empty cup. As someone who spent years brushing off tiredness and pushing through weakness, I’ve now come to deeply appreciate what it means to feel truly well. And recently, I’ve discovered two iron supplements that have genuinely changed my life and I couldn’t keep it to myself.
Back in March, I had a blood test that showed my haemoglobin was dangerously low at 81 g/L. At the time, I was already taking two iron tablets a day, but not only were they failing to help, they made me feel worse. The discomfort, the bloating, the constant nausea. I eventually gave up, and turned to yet another iron infusion just to get through the day. But two weeks later, the fatigue crept back in accompanied by that familiar heaviness in my bones that made even the smallest tasks feel overwhelming.
I expressed my exhaustion to my God-sister and she shared three supplements that had worked for her. I managed to get my hands on two; MegaFood Blood Builder and MaryRuth’s Liquid Iron. Both are American products, so they took a bit of hunting down, but I was determined. I had seen reviews on TikTok, read testimonials, and few clicks later, they were on their way to me.

In a few days I started feeling lighter and energised in a way I hadn’t in years. No longer waking up feeling like I needed eight more hours of sleep to survive the day. My mind felt clearer, my body more stable, and the best part? I experienced none of the harsh side effects I had with traditional iron tablets. No cramps, stomach aches or nausea, just steady strength returning to my body.
I share this not as medical advice, but as a testimony. Because if you’ve been battling anaemia, or feeling perpetually drained with no clear answers, maybe this is your nudge to try something different.
I truly believe in these products and hope they help someone else the way they helped me:
Let this be your reminder: your health matters. You’re worth investing in. Don’t settle for running on empty.
