A Weekend Getaway in Paris, the City of Love
Paris has always held a special place in my heart. I’ve visited several times over the years, and each trip feels just as magical as the first. It’s one of my favourite cities in the world, full of charm, beauty, and nostalgia. So it could not have been more perfect when my now husband chose it as the place to ask me the most important question of my life.
Although the proposal was the highlight of the trip there was so much more that made this getaway unforgettable. We dined at the iconic Le Train Bleu, where the grand interiors made me feel like I had stepped into a Parisian fairytale. The food was just as exquisite. Elegant, rich, and absolutely delicious.

We wandered through the stunning Louvre Museum, taking in centuries of art and history. Seeing the Mona Lisa is always a moment, but this time I was completely drawn to the ceilings. They were so detailed and regal, each one felt like a masterpiece of its own.

And of course, no trip to Paris is complete without a stop at Café de Flore. I ordered a club sandwich and hot chocolate and we just sat there soaking up the city’s energy. It was breath of fresh air!

Now, the proposal.
I genuinely thought we were heading out for dinner at the Eiffel Tower. A couple of weeks earlier, I’d actually booked a shoot with a Paris-based photographer, Max at Bisous Paris, for what I thought would be a simple couples shoot during our trip. But then, Max cancelled. Or so I thought. So imagine my surprise when we hopped out our taxi and there he was, camera in hand. Before I could fully take in what was happening, my husband dropped to one knee.
It was the most beautiful surprise. Intimate, emotional, and captured perfectly. Max was incredible. He gave us space while documenting every second so naturally, and the photos he took are honestly beyond anything I could have hoped for. An hour slot turned into two and we didn’t even realise it, the time just flew by.
Then came the moment that made it all feel even more real. On our way back to London, we received the link to our photos, and the waterworks came flooding. The pictures were so beautiful and so full of love. It felt like reliving the moment all over again. I could not stop scrolling, and even now, I find myself going back to them again and again.
Max did not just deliver photos. He captured a life changing moment with so much care and creativity. If you are visiting Paris, do yourself a favour and book a shoot with Bisous Paris. Whether it’s for a proposal, anniversary, or just because, you will not regret it.

This trip reminded me why I love Paris so much. It gave me incredible memories, timeless art, unforgettable meals, and a fiancé turned husband. What more could I ask for?
